Design Process

Discovery

Our initial meeting will be all about discovering how you live. Who will use the space - adults, kids, pets or all of the above? Are you party animals and entertain a lot, do you work from home, do you cook a lot? Do you want an environment to lounge around and read or watch TV or do you want a space that is formal to host elegant dinner parties or a space that can be both when needed? What colors, styles or textures do you love and which ones do you despise?   

Whether the scope of the project is just one room or an entire house, we will analyze your wants, needs and even your wildest dreams for your space. Our job is to carefully listen to ensure we understand our client’s needs and address the specific requirements of the space.

After the initial meeting, we will develop a program that will outline the scope of work and we will present you with a letter of agreement that will also define our retainer and hourly design fees. Once the letter of agreement is signed, we can start with the Analyze & Design phase of your project.

Analyze & Design  

From our initial meeting, we will analyze all of the information and get started on the design phase to meet our client’s needs. In the design phase, we will take detailed measurements of your space and create 2 to 3 floor plans that will show furniture layout. Once the floor plan has been approved, we will present you with fixture, furnishing, fabric and colors for each space. This presentation can be in the form of presentation boards, elevations, renderings, photos and or finish samples. During this phase, we will determine what contractors will be needed and give an estimate budget as well as make any changes.

Present & Execute

After the final plan has been determined, we will meet to finalize product selections. Once approval of all the elements are agreed upon, we will execute final orders, create timelines and coordinate with contractor and installers. We have two preferred general contractors that we will recommend but we are happy to work with your contractors if you are more comfortable with them. We will meet with contractors, refinishers, artisans and painters to ensure that they understand what is expected of them prior to the start of work. Regular site visits will be done by the design team to monitor progress and that work is done according to plan.

 Install & Complete

Our team will coordinate installations which vary based on arrival of furnishings. We will manage the positioning of all fixtures, furnishings, artwork, window treatments and accessories. After installation is complete, we will provide you with a file that will include product information, care instructions and warranties.
